I've used almost every litter out there and this is the best overall if you actually care for your ferrets health. If your just worried about smell get the pine or cedar litters.I have a giant cage for my 2 carpet sharks and the bottom of it slides out so I just use it for their litter it takes the whole bag lasts me about a month I scoop every day and it never smells. My lil guys would scratch like crazy with the pine litter so I switched, now they barely scratch at all.

I haven't tried the other pressed paper litters but this one isn't bad. Be warned none of the claims here can apply to ferrets. It is very absorbent, however; with a ferret using the pan as often as they do it is not going to dry out their poop, and can become quite water logged if you have more than 1 ferret using the pan. The pellets will breakdown if it gets too wet but it still holds together enough to make scooping easy. I have 3 females and 2 large litter pans in their cage; they both need scooping every other day, their favorite pan everyday. As far as odor control goes it doesn't work as well as the cedar chips I used years and years ago before paper litters were common. I wouldn't recommend wood shavings over paper, as pine and cedar have been shown to cause problems in many animals.
