Highly Recommended, 3/27/2013

Janette Sweet from San Antonio, Texas

When I brought two new ferrets in to join my other 4 I noticed how bad their waste smelled like ammonia. Within 3-4 days it went away once they drank the water I always use this product in. I am going to buy the gallon now, as it is $20. cheaper than the 32oz.x 4= gal. The young couple I got them from only had them 2 mths. I am sure this is one of the reasons they got rid of them. One is 2.5 & the other is about 5 yrs. They were with another family before the young couple too. Such a shame. Now they are in a perminate home and happy with the others to play with.

Works great in food and water!, 10/9/2012

Kyle D. from Denver, CO

We started with a small 8oz and now have a large 32oz and this stuff is great and non-toxic for the fuzzies. We put it on their food (which gives a little bit of smell) and in their water. Their litterbox smells like flowers and is very fresh! They love their food and water and this has not affected them at all and we love the fresh scent of the house!

Wow! Skeptical no more., 8/8/2012

KATHLEEN KELLISON from Denver, CO

This stuff really does work! I was skeptical, it sounded too good to be true. My ferrets live on the 8-1 Ultimate diet, and since they started eating it, their poo has been extremely foul. I stumbled upon this by chance, and decided I'd order the smallest bottle just to see if it works. It really does. My female noticed it in the water and wouldn't drink it though, but I decided to only use 1-2 squirts instead of the 3-5 in their giant water bottle and they stopped noticing it. After two days I could not smell them anymore! Naturally their poo still smells, but it's not over-powering and doesn't smell up the room anymore. It was thanks to other peopls reviews that I decided to give it a shot, though still skeptical. There's not much to lose in trying it, I would reccomend it to anyone that has a problem with over-powering ferret smell. They're such great animals, but because they do stin, a lot of places wont let you have them.

propylene glycol, 5/28/2012

Cat from IL

propylene glycol is also found in make-ups, shampoos, conditioners, body washes, soaps, and much more. Just letting you know. If you wana talk about something being harmful remember its in everything you use. It works. The critters are healthy. So what does it matter.

Does NOT anti-freeze component, 2/14/2012

ddjc from GA

A previous reviewer stated that one of the ingredients, propylene glycol, is a component in anti-freeze. That is NOT true. It is ethylene glycol that is in anti-freeze. The REAL facts are that propylene glycol is approved for human consumption but ethylene glycol is poison. Google them for yourselves.

Works great., 12/31/2011

Alex from North Carolina

This product does everything it says it does. Nancy Dillman, perhaps you should actually READ the ingredients before you post such allegations. The ingredients are as follows, De-ionized water, Dextrose, Malic acid, button mushroom extract, citric acid, xanthan gum, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate. The last two being simply preservatives.

Necessity for ferret owners!, 9/3/2011

Mary from Metairie, LA

My kids wanted to get ferrets...and we went and got three of them then we realized soon afterwards that FERRETS STINK! My husband swears that if he knew that ferrets smelled that way he would have never okayed 3 of them! Anyway, long story short...the ferrets were relegated to the garage after much complaints about how they smelled so I looked into purchasing something ... anything to keep the smell down. I ran across GoodBye Odor and read the reviews hoping that this would live up to what its for...so I ordered the 32 oz. bottle and kept my fingers crossed. Within a couple of days of using it the smell was A LOT better! Eventually, the weezils (thats what I call them) hardly smell at all! Thank heavens because we love our ferrets but not the way they smell! Out of the three ferrets only one lost some hair on his tail and got a little thinner the other two look perfectly fine.

To Nancy Dillman from Chicago IL., 9/2/2011

Hi Nancy, propylene glycol is non-toxic, and deemed safe even for human consumption. The poisonous anti-freeze is ETHYLENE glycol. Please see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Propylene_glycol http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ethylene_glycol

It works, but do you really need it ?, 6/11/2011

Ashley from Hazelton, PA

This product works BUT do you need it ? Most of time, your ferrets litter pans have strong odor because : 1- You feed them the wrong food. They are obligate carnivores and can not digest sugar, fiber, fruits and vegetables. You must feed them meat and high quality kibbles (grain free, high in meat protein and low in carbs). 2- You don't clean your ferrets litter pans, cage and bedding enough. Any pets will have a strong odor if their environment is dirty. You can reduce your ferret's musky odor simply by cleaning the bedding every week. This stuff hides your pet's health symptoms. If your pet has bad breath, its maybe cancer or gum disease. If your pet's poop smell super bad, is probaly the food or a parasite. This product works for sure, but I wonder if its really good to use ?

Amazing Product !, 4/26/2011

James&Andria from Watertown, WI

I was skeptical of the claims the producers of this product made at first, I tried it anyway. I am astounded by the results! I have 20 Rabbits, you can not tell that I have any. The 'reduces' odor claim is an understatement, there is hardly any type of odor at all. The smell of their food and bedding is now all you can smell. It took about 4 days for the odor to dissipate, Rabbits' have a very strong urine smell, as with Ferrets, I can not believe how quickly and thoroughly Good Bye Odor worked. I have seen people that complained of their animals having gas and pains after using this product, well, I honestly think it must have been something else that caused the problems, I have 9 newborn baby bunnies taking this as well as adult Rabbit's, we have no signs of gas, cramps or any other problems and a Rabbit's intestinal system is more delicate than a Ferret's. We have been using this product for over a month and we will not stop now that we know it really works. I will continue to buy this product, it may be costly but it is entirely worth it in the long run. I used to clean their cages 3 times a day ( complete bedding replacement) due to my allergies and my sons asthma, now I clean the cages once a day and it is not a thorough bedding change, it is only a quick clean of large fecal piles. I save over 150 dollars a month now in bedding alone, so the price of the product is still not what I was spending on bedding. I will tell you though, if you have multiple animals taking this, DO NOT buy the small bottle, only buy the gallon! A small bottle will only last you a few water fillings and then you will have to start over while you wait for more product. Buy in advance so you do not have to miss doses. My Bunnies go through over 2 gallons of water a day, so make sure you buy the appropriate amount so you don't have any reason to complain. This product works and those of you whom do not believe... well try it, you will be amazed! What can it hurt, it has a money back guarantee... Andria-Neicohl T.N.T Rabbitry

I love Bi-Odor and have been using it for years with my ferrets. I have never noticed any side effects other than the lack of smell, which is awesome. The only thing I could complain about is the price, although it is much more reasonable here than in any pet store I've been in.

Does the job....but at what cost?, 3/8/2011

Lia from Omaha, NE

With 3 rescued furkids in a small apartment, I was willing to give this a try. I can honestly say I love the stuff, as it really does what it claims. The smell was cut WAY down. However, I also experienced the hair/weight loss that I had read from more then a few reviews. Within 2 months of using the product, the fur was harsh & there was hair loss on the bottom of the tails and the shoulders. I could feel my boy's hipbones. After a trip to the vet, I removed them from the additive....and fur has already grown back....as well as the smell. I truly regret that this didn't work out for us.

Safe for Cats?, 1/31/2011

Hammie from

I'm looking at the ingredients and the only difference between this and cat version is the presence of natural chicken flavor, natural fish flavor, and yucca extract in the cat version and methylcellulose is present in the ferret version. I was wondering if any one else has used the ferret version for their cats? and if they had any bad side effects

It works, 1/9/2011

Jonathan from

We no longer use it for our ferrets as we clean the litter boxes daily and wash the bedding once every 2 weeks, so they only have a light musky odor, they don't smell the "stinky ferrets". That said, if you can't stand your ferrets natural musky odor, or if you are too lazy to cean your ferrets bedding once every 2 weeks and keep the litter clean, maybe you will consider this stuff. To my experience, it reallly works.

Must Have!!!, 11/1/2010

Jessica from

I figured I could handle the smell when I bought my two ferrets but I was dead wrong. Bi Oder made a huge difference. If i use the ferret Oder remover on their cage a litter box and the daily spray on them them like twice a week they smell really good. When I have company over they always say "I thought ferrets are suppose to sink?" Oh boy do I feel great when they say that. I also took it with me when I took them to the Vet and she told me its perfectly safe.

Good Product!-but be cautious., 2/2/2010

Carrie from Freeport,MI

I have three fuzzies that when adopted, they were already on bi-odor. I used it until it ran out and I REALLY noticed a difference! Very stinky! But one of my ferrets was losing ALOT of hair, turns out he really does have adrenal disease, and my other ferret gained weight after the product ran out. Turns out he's just bored and eats too much :) I'm not saying its like it for all ferrets but please be watchful if this is a new product to them. I agree with Kellie from IA with what she does with new products.

It can cause problems for your fuzzies, 1/16/2010

Kellie from Williamsburg IA

I read a review on this site where the owner of two fuzzies noted weight and hair loss while using this product. Given the number of positive reviews, I thought it ludicrous. Unfortunately, it happened to me. I gave the supplement to two of my fuzzies and left a third out of the loop. Jango and Jazz lost weight and their fur became horrible. I stopped the supplement and about 1 month later, my husband (oblivious to the experiment) commented how nice their fur was coming in and how they had gotten a bit heavier. I don't think it happens to all fuzzies, but do be careful. I was giving them 3 pumps in their lock on crock water bowl.

Before I got this everyone walked into the house could smell my babies. Now they no longer smell and people always comment on how good they smell. Saying I thought that ferrets were stinky. I had tried to use a shampoo formulated for ferrets and turned out I was allergic to it. This has worked so well we never do without it. If you have ferrets it is a must have.

Of course they still smell a little bit but it's much better and doesn't stink up the whole room they are in. The price here is awesome and no ferret owner should be without this product.

It's ok-ish, 9/20/2009

Jen from Kelowna, BC

I have two ferrets and I used this stuff to control their smell, but after awhile one of my ferrets began to lose a lot of weight and fur. I then began an expensive investgation with my vet thinking he got adrenal disese, it wasn't until one sunny day a year after that my mom made a connection. I stopped giving them the product and sure enough he gain his weight and fur back. If your ferret(s) is losing weight and fur, try taking them off this product since it could just be an alergie.

Tried this with rats when I had them at it was ama, 6/13/2009

Michelle from Lafayette, La

Before I had my ferrets I had 3 rats. The one formulated for them was amazing. The smell before was horrible. I am hoping that this one works the same. I love that the price here is so much cheaper. Cause in the local pet stores Petsmart and Petco it is $14-15 more for the same price. Even with the shipping price added to an order it is cheaper. i really hope this helps the smell from my male. I didn't notice the smell when I only had my little female. But males have a stronger smell I must say. Of course he was easier to potty train than my female. I can't wait to recieve in my order.

Kimmie from Mahanoy City, PA

Bi-Odor is amazing. It really does cut down on the normal ferret odor. The ferrets smell alot better using this. And their stool isn't as potent as when not using it! I always put 5-6 pumps in their water (spring water) when I'm changing it and they don't seem to mind the taste at all. I gave them tap water the first day and they didn't like the taste, not that I blame them. Why give them something I won't drink, then switched to spring water and they love it.

Don't Have Ferrets Without It!, 3/2/2009

J Brewer from Post Falls, ID

This stuff works miracles! I tried it about a week after I acquired my two fuzzies, now you can't tell that any fuzzies live here at all! After their initial baths there was a drastic reduction in body odor as well as no urine or feces odor. You just have to use it religiously and after about a week or so you'll notice the lack of odor. I highly recommend it especally for anyone thinking of making drastic in diet or just giving up on fuzzies period. Give this stuff a chance to work before you decide that maybd ferrets just aren't for you.

this stuff tastes like nail polish remover! Why would you put it in their water, I gave it to my Fuzzie for about a month maybe I didn't really keep track and I couldn't understand why she'd gasp and gag every time she took a drink I though she'd gotten water in her nose or something but nope it was this crap making her water horrible. I threw it in the trash. If you bathe yer baby once a month and give them a spritz once in a while they don't smell. Unless you've neglected to get one that was de-scented.

If you have 2 or more ferrets this stuff is a must. Don't think that you can keep your cages clean enough that you can do without it. After my daughter got her second ferret the smell give me a headache and I am not a headache prone person. If you are going to get multiple ferrets include this from the beginning when you buy your first supplies. Go ahead and read all these other reviews if you want, they tell you basically the same thing. Makes me wonder how many people are living with that horrible smell that don't know about bi-odor.

Fedex damaged the first bottle sent to me, so I called up the ferret.com toll free number, spoke with a few people, and they "returned" that bottle and sent me a new one. It was here 5 days later. I lost about 10oz out of the first bottle (which was all over the other stuff I ordered but it cleaned up alright.) But they said just to keep it and use it. I appreciate the prompt customer service, especially with a first time buyer. Onto the product: This stuff WORKS! We use 3 pumps in each 16oz bottle, and we have two fuzzies. It's wonderful.

I had one female ferret and her odor was not bad. I was given two more and the smell was unbelieveable! I washed all their bedding twice a week, cleaned their litter box daily and still the odor was terrible. After only one week on this you can't even tell I have them! This product is wonderful, they didn't take long to get used to the taste and it started to take care of the odor almost the next day. I recommend this to everyone. Now I don't have to clean continuously, although I still clean their litter box daily. :)

Thank God!, 5/12/2008

Jeneen from Easley, SC

I've wanted a ferret for a long time and the smell was the only thing that made me think twice since I'm very particular not wanting my house to smell like animals. I bit the bullet about three weeks ago and saw this stuff about a week later. Within 2-3 days I didn't smell him when I walked in the house. After about a week I couldn't smell him at all. I am so thrilled I made a new addition and brought him home a buddy last week. This stuff is amazing!!!

darci from forest city, ia

I have 4 ferrets and i love them very much, but lets be honest they smell funky. Bi-Odor is great, my babies are right by my front door and no one has ever said anything. Except, "I thought ferrets were supposed to stinck". NOT MINE.

4 ferrets in 400sq feet, 12/3/2007

Karl Hoffman from Algonquin,IL

I have four ferrets two males and two females. I live in a small loft only about 400sq feet and you wouldn't know I have any pets!I house them in a ferret nation habitat model 142. although I feel this is the best cage on the market you must use liter not bedding and the smell can get pretty bad somedays even with regular cleaning. This product has completly changed this! there is no smell anymore actually the only thing I smell now is the food. I use marshall premium food and buy the 35lb bags. The problem now is the powder that the food leaves. I didn't notice before but it really stinks. I love this stuff and would recomend it for anyone!!!!

it does work, 10/20/2007

Manda from San Jose, Ca

I use this product as directed and with weekly cage cleaning, laundry cleaning, and bi-weekly baths my ferret has pretty much NO odor. Even strangers cannot smell his musk. Also I never really have issues with odor from his litter boxes, though I change them often, and he has several... So is it worth the money Eh possibly, I do think it helps on a chemical level.

Works!, 6/18/2007

Melissa from NY

Product takes a few days to work, but once it does, you will know. We have 2 ferrets, and there is no smell. When we got our second from the petstore, everything with him smelled, but after a few days with this product, the ferrety smell is gone. Is a little pricy, but is worth it.

I have had my ferret for 2 years. I did not know how well this product worked until I ran out for a couple of weeks. I will make sure this does not happen again. Best price found in any store or on any other web site.

Its only been a couple of days since i have head my ferrets, but before I even got them my biggest concern was the smell. It stunck in the room the first day, but I can tell the smell is getting better each day, although I do use it along with other products and odor control litter.
