Ferrets love them, 4/18/2013

Bri from Gilbert, AZ

My two ferrets love these treats. The sticks are pretty long, so I just bend one stick in half and it breaks into two pieces, so they each get a half. They chew on them just like a dog chews on a bone... it's so funny. Sometimes I'll dip the treats into a little olive oil and they go crazy for it. While they love these treats... they arent very good for ferrets. I only give them a bag of these treats once every other month.

About the Soy, 3/3/2013

Randy from Upstate NY

Quoet : Soybean meat and soy flour are also commonly used. Soybean products are usually well tolerated by ferrets but some veterinarians caution that the high use of soy protein in some of these diets may affect hormonal levels in ferrets after long term use. No formal studies have been done yet to prove or disprove this theory in ferrets, but it is documented in pigs.

Ferrets dont eat soy, 9/14/2012

thomas from Pensacola, FL

The ingrediat list starts with soy protein, gelatin, wheat gluten. Ferrets are carnivores and do not eat freakin soy! There is a good chance that this will cause disgestion issues in ferrets. I wouldnt eat this ingrediant list and neither will my pet.

Great treats, 9/10/2012

Kasey from Milwaukee, WI

My ferrets love these treats. They're pretty long, so I cut them into thirds and give one third to each ferret (I have 3). It also makes them last longer. My cats beg for them too, but when I gave them a piece, they wouldn't eat them. Apparently they smell really good.

Omnom from Champaign, IL

2 of my 3 little ones love these chews (the oldest is a rescue that has taken several months to like the most basic treat). Reserved for a special time when they need something to do, like chew for several minutes. Nice ingredients, healthy treats, and a good change up from the same old soft treats.

I am also noticing yellow diarrhea and have just now made the connection. I have two ferrets and the both love the chew sticks but my older one (2 years) gets this funky yellow diarrhea, as if there is something in these things that he can't digest. Too bad.

Our favorite treat, 5/24/2011

JAMIE GAINER from Pittsburgh, Pa

This is the only treat any of my ferrets have always wanted and never turned down. They CRAVE these and follow me around poking at my ankles until I hand one over. My vet also commented on how clean their teeth are for their age and I believe these treats help a good bit with that. I do tend to cut them down into smaller pieces because my little girl can get them stuck in the roof of her mouth if it's just the right width and I can expect a bitten finger when I help her remove it. Other than that, these are our favorite treats!

Awesome Treat!, 4/6/2011

Crystal from Newport News, VA

I have two ferrets and they love this treat! One of them didn't take a liking to it at first. So I let him sniff the bag and he pulled out all the treat and would take a few bites out of them then do something else. So I broke up one of the treats into smaller pieces and started chewing on it. Now he loves them and can't wait for me to give it to him when he sees me holding them!!

Fussy ferret's favorite, 2/23/2011

Fairie from Nanaimo, B.C.

I had just about given up on finding a treat my little guy wouldn't reject outright, then I found these. He just loves them, it's like I'm giving him the tastiest thing ever. A nice bonus is the legnth of the treat, I can easily break one in to smaller pices and use them as a training aid all day without over treating him.

If your ferret doesn't want to try these, as mine did at first, stick them in a bag of their food or other treats that they do like so that they absorb that odor. Once mine recognized a tasty odor, they tried them and loved them! Now they always take them right away, knowing they are yummy :)

top choice; but cat version is cheaper, 12/29/2009

Steven from MN

These treats have eventually become the favorite of each of the 5 ferrets I have had over the years. I stock up with 5 pounds per purchase. My one complaint is that the Nbone treats for cats are virtually the same product except that the sticks are larger and they cost ~$2.10 for a 4 oz bag instead of the 1.87 oz bags sold for ferrets. Thus, I usually get the cat treats instead of these and give out half a stick per ferret. These are one of the few treats my ferrets will fight over so each one gets a stick at exactly the same time.

We have 5 ferrets and they love this treat. The 2 boys only eat treats if we leave them on the ground but the 3 girls will all stand on their back legs to get this treat. Within about 5 minutes they have scarfed it down. I usually give a whole stick to each of them but only when i can supervise them.

Either way i decide to give them to em they love em and it keeps them busy for at least a half hour to a hour.I only give my ferrets these n-bone chew treats about twice a week but they get other treats and also marshalls molasses chew treats that they also absolutely love!!!

Good treats, good price, 10/6/2009

Martine from Baltimore, MD

Even though I love when these are on sale, they're not even that expensive when they aren't. When I adopted my ferret the shelter owner gave me half a bag of these because my new ferret liked them. She was right! I usually don't give her a whole one at a time. I break them up into little bits and then hide them around her bedding and toys for her to go hunting for them. She loves them!

Best treat and good for teeth too!, 10/6/2009

KC from Texas

I have 5 weezlers, and although when new ones come they're a little apprehensive, within days (a little dip into ferretone gets them started) they are crazy for them. This is how I catch them when they've had the run of the house. I squeak a toy, and when they come running they each get 1/2 a stick as a treat before bedtime. Now they start pestering me early to go back to the cage, and as soon as they hear the package rustling they're on the spot! Their teeth have never looked better either, I trim nails, clean ears and brush teeth weekly but noticed since I started giving 1/2 a treat daily there is virtually no buildup between cleanings! Again, takes awhile to get them acclimated to them but once they do, they just love them! I buy them 20 bags at a time when they're on sale now!

Only one fan , 9/25/2009

Donna G. from White Pine, TN

Out of 4 ferrets I only have one that will eat these, but as with anything, ferrets have their own individual taste, so that's not to say they are bad. I break them in half as a whole one is too much for her all at once. She feels special when she gets her treat, cuz no one tries to steal it from her.

Don't run out!!, 8/9/2009

Phyllis from Florida

This is one thing that I try NEVER to run out of. Whoever gets up first in the mornings is surrounded by five begging ferrets!! We have two that will eat theirs as fast as possible and then chase the others down and try to steal their treats for themselves. These are the only chew sticks that my ferts will eat. As a matter of fact these are the only treats they really seem to enjoy and that we like to for them to have. These treats are good for them and help keep their teeth clean. They don't have the sugar and other fillers that some treats have and they don't leave a sticky mess . . .even when you find one stashed under a chair a day later!! The best treat that we can give our ferrets!

Shari from Oregon

We call these Grizzle Sticks because Grizzly ferret loves them! -Not loaded with sugar. -High protein and fat. -The extra chewing action on these tough treats is good for the teeth, jaw and gums. -Provides a bit of mental stimulus working these treats down. On my side of things, these don't leave a sticky mess or crumbs to clean up! 5 stars from this ferret parent!

My ferrets Izzy and Demon LOVE these! I cut them in half and they each take a piece then run off to eat them. As soon as they see the bag they are all over me trying to get the treat. It hasn't made them sick, has alot of protein, and really keeps their teeth clean. My ferrets are picky about their treats so to find one that they like and is good for them at a good price is always a great thing. I strongly recommend this product!

Best chew toy of all, 6/13/2009

Michelle from Lafayette, LA

I have to buy these 4 pkgs at a time. EnJolie and Gaston love these more than another treat. I also cut them in half to make them last long. The price in the local pet stores is twice as much. I can get 2 for the price of one on here even with the shipping. These chewies help keep their little teeth clean and pretty.

crazy for chews, 3/25/2009

VICKIE DAMRON from Tenino, WA

We have 1 of our 8 ferrets which does not like ferretone. Nu-bone chews are the treats which came with Harvey, the"one." But you cannot give one ferret one treat and not the others, right? Now all eight of our ferrets enjoy "Harvey"s Treats" I use a garden pruner and clip them into bite sized portions. It is supposedly good for their teeth and so far I have noticed that all their teeth look good. This is a great price for Nu-Bone Chicken Chews compared to other pet stores.

My fert Potato now loves these things. It took me dipping them in water for him to try it (the first time just long enough to make it a little soft). He INHALES them! The only downside is it makes his poo seedy, so I'll have to limit how much a day he gets - thats okay, it lasts longer!

All 6 of my guys live for these things!, 2/14/2009

KC from Texas

This is how I bribe them back into their cage in the evening. I have a squeak toy and they coming running because they know each of them, every night, gets a 1/2 stick of the chew and they just love love love them. 2 of them at first didn't know what to do with them but after they saw the others going nuts, (and I dipped the ends in ferretone the first time to get them to take them) now they are the same. They stand on their hind legs against the sides of the cage just begging for them! I don't know which they love best - these sticks or their daily dose of 'weasel crack' (ferretone) They all love these even more than the soft treats and these help keep their teeth and gums sparkling!! 1 of 2 Treats My Ferret Enjoys, 8/28/2008

Greg from Toms River, NJ

I purchased at least $50 worth of treats when I got my ferret and this is one of two treats he approves of (I sit here with 12+ opened bags of other brand treats with one piece trashed from each bag after 3 days of ignoring them) I hand him a N Bone stick twice weekly and he quickly snatches it out of my hand and runs into the center of his tunnel system I built for him and doesn't come out until it's gone! His 2nd favorite treats are foamy fries.

For some reason my 12 week old boy ate one the first day i brought him home and he hasn't eatin any since. But I love this treat for them and so do they. I cut it in half so they don't get too full and not eat their kibble. Also I like to put them in their Kong ball to make them work for it. Fits perfectly it's almost like the 2 were made for each other.

A ferret toothbrush-The N-Bones, 6/22/2008

Jacqueline St John from Boulder Junction WI

I have 4 ferrets. Three of them love N-Bones. This product actually cleans their teeth. I know for sure because one of my ferrets, Shazam has allergies and is a mouth breather and when he sleeps his mouth breathing has caused plaque and brown discoloration on all his teeth. The other ferrets all have nice white teeth and a great smile. They breathe through their cute little noses and they do not snore either.

We do not cage. When a ferret wakes up they are thinking two thoughts: " I have to poop and I want my N Bones". I cut the N Bones into 5 pieces- a container near the litter box holds the litter compliance payment. My gang of 4 has a 90% in the box success rate. They come and get me when it is time to refill. They even try to collect payments for scat they did not drop.

Ferret LOVES them, but, when I did buy them, they , 5/8/2008

Ashley from Madison, Illinois

My ferret Arwen hated any kind of treats we ever tried to give her. I'd spent a fairly large amount of money on treats for her at petsmart and petco. Their prices are a little steep on certain products, ferret food and treats being some of them. She never liked any treats that I bought for her. So I went into Petsmart one last time and bought these. SHE ABSOLUTELY LOVES THEM!!! She won't take them unless we bend them a few times to make them a little easier to chew for her, but she loves them none the less! I was so ecstatic about it that I went back to the store to buy more, but they had sold out, so I can see why. They were a little pricey at Petsmart for the amount that they give you, but after seeing the price on this site, I'm getting all of my ferret supplies here!!

When my little lady gets bored she usually trashes her cage and then chews on the bars. I bought these hoping it would quell her frustration when I cant let her out. She couldnt care less about these. I dont think it is because the treats are bad, I just think she is really picky. I even tried putting a little vitamin paste on them so she would lick them and maybe get a taste for them. No Luck.

Brings them running every time, 3/11/2008

Stacie from Germantown, MD

I buy N Bones in bulk because they're an excellent reward/bribe. My girls will come to the cage no matter where they are when they hear me holler "Treats!" Even the dog comes running, hoping for a handout or a dropped one. I divide each treat in half and I supervise while they eat, as they WILL steal these treats from each other! It's a good idea to use the zip-lock on the bag, because exposure to air makes these treats tougher. It doesn't matter to my younger ferrets if the treats are hard, but my old ladies have to work harder to eat them if I leave the treats exposed to the dry air in our house. It also helps prevent thievery if the bag is kept closed!

After she goes in the litter box she comes running for her treat, and she runs off in a corner to eat it, not wanting to share. If you try to take it from her she makes noises I've never heard. Ferrets Fight For These!, 1/7/2008

Laura from Somewhere, Here

I give one to each of my ferrets, and yet, they still hiss at each other, one wanting them all!!!! Recommend this treat to ALL ferret owners! They love this stuff! And it's cheap too!

My ferrets LOVE these things, 12/27/2007

Don from Tucson, Az

My ferrets jump all over me when they hear me opening the package. They are 1.39 here and about 3.50 at petsmart. I ordered 4 bags to come out ahead with the shipping. 6.99 shipping no matter what you order is a great deal.

Best treat ever, 12/23/2007

Evelina from Staten Island, NY

My ferret will do absolutly everything for this treat. This is how I get her to come out of her hiding spots (and she has many of them in the house). She is a very healthy and active ferret, and she comes to us for the treats. We trained her to do tricks with those treats. SHE LOVES IT, and we are happy to give it to her.

Super Treat!!!, 12/9/2007

Laura from Arlington, SD

My four fuzzies will start jumping and running (literally) when they hear the crinkle of the packaging these come in. They go great inside the rolling treat ball! My three guys and one girl won't eat the Bandits treats, so I tried these and they go crazy over them. Definitely worth the price.

100% APPROVAL BY FINNICKY FUZZIES, 11/16/2007

Idee Poly from Boulder City NV

We have rewarded our ferrets with N-Bone Ferret Chew treats for as long as I can remember. They are even rated #1 by our dog. I find that 1/2 of a chew works best because with a whole one, the littlest ferret loses hers to the big guys.

All my ferrets LOVE this treat!, 11/14/2007

Cherise from FL

Three of my four ferrets love this treat from the first time they tasted it. My fourth ferret does not like treats at all but one day I actually got him to taste it and he loves it ever since! And it's good for their teeth! At the pet store, this item cost more than double than on this site.

Ferret Tested, Mom Approved, 10/17/2007

Jessica from Paris, TX

This is the healthiest based on it nutritional content, which pleases me, the taste pleases my fuzz butt. Its very similar to the Marshall super chew treat, just a stick. I bought multiple bags since they are so cheap!!

Good Treats, 8/25/2007

Michelle from Provo, UT

I have one ferret that absolutely loves these treats. She wont eat any other type of treat. But my other two wont have anything to do with them. I do wish they would as these are higher in protein than most other treats.

Otter loves em!!, 8/24/2007

Elaine from Roanoke, VA

My little Otter loves these treats! He will grab it out of your hand and immediately run behind his cage and eat it. Its a good treat to keep him busy if hes mad at me for putting him back in his cage when I have to leave. It keeps him busy and makes him happy.

The treat of treats., 8/19/2007

Ben Ford from Iowa

Ok now I have read many of the reviews and feel I should post one as well. I have noticed some ferrets do not like this treat and other eat it to fast. I also read allot love this treat. my two ferrets are in the group that love it. They both go crazy over this treat. I will admit the treat gets eaten very quick by both of my ferrets. They then run to the other one and try to steal it. kinda funny I have never had a problem with upset stomachs or the upset intestinal tracts. I am not saying this is not possible. My advice to the potential consumer is purchase a many of treats try them all. At only a couple of dollars each find the one that really makes your ferret happy. because thats why we have ferrets and ferret treats.

Awesome, 1/7/2007

Michele from Addison, IL

My ferrets also turn thier noses up at most treats. They love these chews. They steal them out the bag and hide them for later. I find that sticking a treat in a ferrets mouth to get saliva on it usually entices the little fur balls to give it a try doesnt mean they will like it.

Ferrets Favorite, 12/9/2006

Roe from Phoenix, AZ

This product is great!!! I have 5 ferrets and they really love it! Its all natural no sugar added like most other treats. It helps curb the weasles chewing while cleaning teeth! Great, wish there were more products out there as good!

ok, 11/7/2006

Lynn from Colorado

My ferret loves these treats so much that she gobbles them down so quickly she gets the runs, and that's no fun. I've even tried cutting them into smaller pieces, but to no avail.

My Ferret really likes these and he doesn't like any others. They keep him busy and since I only have one, I give him it and it gives me plenty of time to clean out his cage.

I guess my ferrets just don't like treats, I tried different ones and I can not find anything they like. They smell these and go away from them.
