Bad manufacturing..., 5/23/2012

I really wanted to love this cage, to just assemble it and have a spacious new home for my two parakeets, Zephyr and Gryffon. The price and free shipping (and the fact that my babies needed a bigger home) influenced my choice greatly. It looked fine in pieces out of the box, but as we assembled the cage (very carefully because parts seemed weak), we noticed several wires were bent; a welding point was broken, another was very weak; and the plastic bottom was warped outward so that the metal cage did not snap-in flush with it. There was a 1" gap between the cage and plastic bottom! We were able to fix it up enough that we could keep this spacious cage and not have to downgrade to a smaller one because of price... but we were very disappointed in the poor manufacturing of my two sweeties' new home. From other reviews of the same cage, these are common problems. I have nothing bad to say about Bird.com though - fantastic deal and crazy fast shipping!
