My boys are cute little terrors, and I was very upset to find that design has been changed. Those built in hooks are stupid and useless. Why did they removed the clamps that you could adjust? One of my boys just pushes this thing down the stairs, making a big mess so he can poop in a corner that he shouldn't be pooping in. Total waste of money if you have crafty or stuborn ferrets. ferrets

So, for my first ferret, Savannah, I decided to get a litter box, and thought this would be good. I got the Long John, and had it arrive a few weeks later. When I put it in Savi's cage she ran over, and flipped it upside down! After many flipping insidents I got a C-clamp, and sucured it to the side of the cage- but heres the thing- Savannah, 4 month old, ferret kit, could hhardly get her little butt in- it was so small! After, that I threw it a away, and bought a MArshall ferret litter pan- it was much better, and very big. So what I have learned from this experience, is don't ever not read dimenshions!

I should have read a couple of the previous reviews before purchasing the pans. First of all I agree, what in the world were they thinking making a pan w/o clips. My ferrets just move them all over the cage and in some instances turned them over. Not a pretty sight. Secondly they don't fit the Ferret Nation cage. I contacted ferret.com and I was able to return the product and receive a refund. I guess I will have to look else where for the old pans.

I purchased the extra large, hi corner pans. I have purchased the smaller ones in the past and was looking to upgrade in size for my growing ferrets. I am very unhappy! There are no clips to hold the cage in place so, the ferrets move the litter box and poop around it. Why on earth would anyone make a litter box intended for ferrets without clips to hold them in place?! I am so disappointed.

Well I ordered this pan without reading the comment below me! It's true. This new pan is not nearly as good as their old pan. It's not as heavy duty and it's smaller than the old style. One of my ferts is huge and will only use the old huge pan one or low enter cat box, like the kind at Wal-Mart, but those aren't tall enough, so poo tends to go over. I'm not sure what I'm going to do now. Maybe find the old pans on craigslist or something. I contacted the nice people at ferret.com and they gladly helped me with a refund. They are such a helpful company, so I will def be coming back to them for everything ferret in the future. I have not used the pan. Not sure if my others would like it, and as the other person below said about the indents inside the pan could be a problem with the poo. This pan would probably be fine if you have smaller to medium ferrets. Still an upgrade from those tiny corner boxes. One nice looking thing about the pan is that it has screw type things on both sides of the back to fix to the cage and I think it would be sturdy, but as I've said I have not used it and may donate it to a shelter anyways. The people at ferret.com said they should get an updated pic from Superpet soon since they did not know it was an old pic, so you'll know what you're getting as it was a surprise to me. Overall I guess it would be okay if your kids weren't as picky as mine XP

I think this is a good size for rats. My two boys started using it as soon as I put some "samples" in it to give them the idea. They're a little lazy so the litter pan has to be easy and convenient - this one is big enough for easy visits but doesn't take up too much of the cage floor.
REMEMBER - NO CLUMPING LITTER for rats! Probably true for all other small animals; what I know about is rats.

I purchased this prodcut for my ferret and its much to small. When he goes potty he gets it all over the side not in the box. He also pushes it around his cage and the little clips on it won't fit on our cage. I would go for a litter box a bit bigger.

The lady at the shelter was positive that my ferret would not use the corner litter pan, but i decided to try it anyway, and she was wrong, within the first two minutes my ferret was in her cage she found her litter box and did her business.
I couldn't be more please with this item.

This litter box has been changed. It now has clips on the back to secure it to the cage, much higher back and sides, and has little indentations in the bottom corners of the pan. All in all it's still a nice box, but I'm not too thrilled about the indentations. It's going to make scooping more difficult.

I just bought this litter pan a few days ago for my 3 fuzzies and it was a big mistake. They don't care for the shape and all they do is dig out their litter and try to tip the box. I have 2 other litter boxes that they have never had a problem with. This one is not very good.

This litter box is great. I use it in cages and out for kittens. It is heavy and front is low enough for kittens to get in. I have even used it with a towel as a bed.
Label came off easily with one of the label removers that causes no damage.

This pan was so much bigger than I thought it would be, I just keep getting surprises from this store and its products! I love the way the pan comes apart for easy installation, and the top being transparent to you can see from all angles if some fuzzy is in the loo! Lol! It also hangs to the cage so that is a great plus, you just have to find the correct height to hang it from and you are good to go!

I've got two fuzzies, and they're both pan-trained (when they don't choose to ignore that). However, they both have a habit of backing into the side corners of this, so far that they end up pooping right out of the pan. The clips are useless; I tried wire-tying, ziplining, but my girl fuzzy just took them off and shoved the pan around; she thinks it's a bed. I need to get a new one now because that stain-resistant plastic (which is NOT odor resistant) is now an unhealthy, permanent shade of black, and smells like ammonia. All in all, decent product, a few flaws.

I have had trouble getting my two ferrets to share a box, and two corner boxes did not work!! They would end up going inbetween them...it was a mess! This one covers both corners and my ferrets use it 100% of the time.

I was surprised by the size, was larger than I imagined. The box isn't flimsy;really heavy duty. I was put off by reviews about the sticker not coming off, although I had no problem. If you peel up the edge so that you can get a grip and go very slowly the whole sticker will come off with ease. I love this website. Great products, unbeatable prices.

I too had trouble with this pan. my ferret would just kick the pen around , so much for the hooks on the back! then i tohught i could outsmart my ferret by drilling holes into the two back walls of the pan and then wiring them to my cage. well now she hates the pan! then i tried to just leave it in the cage and let her decide where he wanted it and she made the floor a pellet desert. would not buy knowing all the trouble i would have to go through.

As another reviewer mentioned, the clips are truly useless. They will not hold the pan at all and are flimsy and liable to snap off very soon. Also, the front lip is too high and any ferrets that are young and in the training phase will most likely ignore this pan as mine did. It might work for adult litter trained ferrets, but the pan is so poorly designed and flimsy anyway, so why waste your money, right?

I found the klips for the corners useless. To keep my ferrets from dumping the litter, I drilled holes through the bottom of the cage AND through the litter pan. I secured these with rounded nuts and bolts. Solved the problem. No more dumping!

I got one of these, from a pet store in town. I got ripped off lol.... 10$ where as this ones price is amazingly decent. I love the high back and the fact my ferret instantly tried to get behind it and move it. Droid threw a fit lol. Cudn't move it or anything. Also helps keep the cage cleaner and small enough its not in the way. I'd recommend it, infact my mom is purchasing it right this moment. :D

This is a must, overspray from bad positioning can get in the cage, this eliminates those "mistakes". Our ferret had no problems with the new bathroom facilities and my cage stays cleaner longer.

This is the only pan I could get my oldest boy to go in, I then bought more for my other kids because it seems mine will not share a litter pan. The legs if they arent raised with them as kits will drive them crazy but I have a litter pan flipper who has yet to flip the pan. The only thing I dont like is the paper on the back of the pan is hard to get off and if you don't get it off it gets all poop stained and will stink!

My little Bento took the legs and lifted pan as a great opportunity to dig under the pan and unhinge it. No matter what I tried, the cheap plastic wouldn't stand up against his mighty back legs. There was no way to keep it in the cage because of his desire to wedge under it and push it away from the corner (they poo'd where the box HAD been every time he moved it). Until he could unhinge it, they'd use it, but once Bento managed to free the box, they'd just go behind it. :( Legs are a bad idea. You want a litter box that is *solid* and not going anywhere -- this isn't it.

I've gone through several types of litter pans and most suffer from one of several annoyances. If it is a low-side litter pan, then mess end up outside of the pan and sometimes outside of the cage. If it is a corner litter pan, it is hard to clean when/if the ferret actually use it. Covered litter pans and commendered totes end up as playboxes that are never used.
Hi-bac litter pans solve those problems. The high back catches any messes that would go over the edge of a normal litter pan. There's enough room for the ferrets to get all four feet in the litter pan (important for the ferrets to recognize it as a litter pan). It's also very easy to clean in even a busy cage because of the slanted sides. My oldest ferret also appreciates the slanted sides and low front. There's also the added bonus (beyond the slanted sides) of it not being made by Marshalls since some ferret owners prefer not to support Marshalls.
The only real negative is that the sticker doesn't come off easily unless you use nail polish remover. The best thing to do is leave the label on and not mess with it. the label has a glossy finish, so it is actually pretty easy to wipe clean and doesn't absorb much.

I have two of these pans. The reason being is that the hinge that attaches the pan to the cage broke off. Now I have two pans that my ferret can tip over when she's being moody. I'm very disappointed in the quality that it would just break like that.

Everything about this litter box is fine except for 1 thing. The sticker on this box is not removable. After 15 minutes of running this under extremely hot water, all I was able to do was remove the plasic and paper part of the sticker. There is still the sticky part of the label stuck on the box. The only way to get this off is to use a solvent which will damage the box. Other than that our ferret loves the box.

I bought several of these litter pans for my ferrets. I like the large size and it fits well into different size cages. They are big enough for a large ferret or several ferrets without cleaning them all the time.

I had originally bought this item for my pet rat who used it alot. Later it was used for my dwarf bunny but I found that shape was made it undesirable for her, however my big fat cat loves it and squishes himself into it as a bed. So I would recommend this item but keep an eye on your pet to see if it likes it or not

I wasnt awar when I purchase 5 of these boxes that they had legs on them. My 2 ferrets werent to crazy about them at first but they are getting more used to the idea of a raised litter pan. I suggest getting rid of the legs, other than that very nice shape and like the cage locks.

Though the design of this product appeared useful, the large sticker adhered to the inside was near impossible to remove. It took hours of soaking and scrubbing to get the sticker off, and even then the back of the pan was all scratched up from my efforts. The side corners of the pan also were not high enough, so my ferret's waste would spill over the side when she went in those places. I would recommend this product to someone with a good sticker remover fluid and a small ferret that does not go in the very edges of the corners.

My little girl would ALWAYS tip over her litter box. She loved digging under it. But I got this one that latches onto the cage and I haven't had the problem since. She still tries, but she never has any luck! It's great!
